Your first Amsterdam couples massage on a work trip, and what to expect from it
A couple booking for the first time usually has more questions than they put in the message. This page answers them in the order the evening happens, from the first line in the thread to the door closing behind her.
A first Amsterdam couples massage is simpler than it looks from outside. Most of the uncertainty comes from not knowing the sequence: who writes, what gets agreed, when the money moves, what happens at the door. Once you know the order, the evening has no surprises in it, which is exactly what a working week needs.
The first message
One of you writes, usually the partner with the freer day. The message gives the date, the hour in Amsterdam time, the length, and whether you want one therapist between you or a therapist each. Add the part of the city you are staying in and, if you have one, the name of a therapist from the roster. The hotel name and room number come later.
The reply and the advance half
The reply confirms who can come, the figure from her profile and when she will arrive. Because it is your first booking with the house, half of that figure is sent ahead once the hour is agreed. It is the first half of the fee rather than a separate charge, and the rest is a single payment at the door. The glossary entry on the deposit sets out the rule in a few lines.
Your first Amsterdam couples massage: the knock
She arrives forty to sixty minutes after the hour is confirmed. At the door she may ask each of you for a photo document, because both guests must be twenty-one or over; she reads it and hands it back, and nothing is copied. Then she comes in, sets her bag down and takes a moment to look at the room.
Before the session begins
She tells you what her session includes and where her limits are, in her own words. Those limits hold for both of you for the whole visit. This is also the moment to mention anything she should know: a sore shoulder, a preference for less talk, whether you want the lamp on. With one therapist between you, she will suggest who goes first; with a therapist each, both sessions start together.
The session
The session runs at an unhurried pace on the bed, with warm oil and the towels she brings. Nobody needs to perform or make conversation. Couples often worry beforehand about feeling awkward in front of each other, and nearly all of them find the worry has gone before the first quarter of an hour is out.
When it ends
She finishes on time, the balance is handed over by whichever of you is nearer, and she leaves. There is no follow-up unless you ask for one. If you want to see her again later in the trip, name her in the thread next time.
